 Reading challenges can be straining for parents and challenging for a child.   

I understand that finding the right support for your child can be a difficult process.  

I have over 20 years of experience teaching reading.  As The Reading Ally founder I am certified through Orton Gillingham Online Academy and I have several hundred hours of OG dyslexia instruction under my belt.  I am an Orton Gillingham Practicum Supervisor (OGOA) and I work with OGOA supervising other tutors, educators, and parents as they become Orton Gillingham trained and certified.  In the state of Florida, I am certified by the Department of Education with certifications in the following areas: Educational Leadership, PreKindergarten/Primary Education, Elementary Education, Reading, English for Speakers of Other Languages

Many intelligent children show early and ongoing signs of delay in producing language.  When a child has signs of poor reading skills in kindergarten and first grade, they are often not diagnosed with SLD or Dyslexia and by fourth grade it can take up to four times as long to remediate their poor reading skills.  I was not always able to support all children because unfortunately I didn't have the necessasary tools.  Like many exceptional educators, it wasn't until I become Orton Gillingham certified that I was fully equipped to address specific individual learning challenges.  

Today I am confidently prepared and excited to support all children and the adults that advocate for them.
